What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a simple yet powerful practice of paying attention to our thoughts, emotions and body's sensations in a non-judgmental manner. Observing your thoughts without criticism, teaches you how to be more compassionate with yourself. Being more compassionate helps you to free yourself from the gravitational pull of anxiety, stress, depression and unhappiness.

We can learn to respond with greater wisdom and flexibility to difficult emotions and experiences, and learn to live with greater happiness and vitality.

Dr. Jon Kabat- Zinn father of the Mindfulness program and author of Full Catastrophe Living , explains more in the video "What is Mindfulness?"

with Stress

When you start to feel a little sad, anxious, or depressed , it's not the mood that does the damage, but how you react to it.

The effort of trying to free yourself from a bad mood or unhappiness, often makes things worse. It's like being trapped in quicksand, the more you struggle to be free the deeper you sink.

Mindfulness meditation creates greater mental clarity; allowing you to see things with pure open-hearted awareness. It encourages you to become more compassionate with yourself and be more resilient.
